Therapy so good, it is used by your CEO and your mom.
The way we teach psychology in India has not changed much in the last 60 years, so you have to try 3-5 therapists before you find the right one!
All our therapists are held to global standards of training, so you don't waste time & money in finding someone who can actually help.

The Problem
Finding a good Indian therapist is really really hard
Judgemental, pretentious, superficial are the words people use to describe some of their past therapists
3+ attempts to find the right therapist
6.3 months on average to find a therapist that works
53% felt judged by their previous therapist
Based on data from 1,800+ intake calls
Our Solution
Our therapists haven't just read textbooks. They are actually trained to practice.
In India, anyone with a master's in psychology can start practicing as a therapist.
We think that bar is too low, because most master's courses are purely theoretical.

Here's what we look for.

A minimum of 2 years of in-depth training in a modality
Our therapists have trained with internationally renowned bodies and trainers like ITAA, Somatic Experiencing International, Marsha Linehan etc. This gives them the clinical depth needed to help you get to real, lasting change.

They are in therapy themselves, so they actually don't judge
Therapists are human, too. If a therapist had an alcoholic father, they may end up judging a client with a drinking issue. They have to do a lot of work in personal therapy, so that they show up without judgement in the room.

They invest in regular supervision to develop practical skills
Just like a surgeons trains under a senior doctor to learn how to operate. Therapists work with supervisors to learn practical skills - where to pause, where to probe, how to challenge etc.

Testimonials
Our clients trust us enough to refer their friends. We've never had to spend on ads.
Here's what they say.
"I discover something new about myself each time"
I tried therapy with many therapists before. Chaitali from Mindbun was the only one who helped me explore all aspects of my life. Every session feels like a treasure hunt because I discover something new about myself each time.
— Male, 34, Bengaluru, Founder
"Drawing with my left hand helped me get in touch with my feelings"
I always thought therapy won't work for me because I find it hard to describe how I'm feeling. My therapist made me draw with my left hand to help me connect with my emotions. Over time, I've been able to get in touch with what I'm actually feeling.
— Female, 36, London, Product Manager
"I did not have to shop for therapists"
Thanks to you I didn't have to shop for therapists and found the absolute perfect one. I really hope other people get to experience working with a good therapist. It's genuinely been such a great journey.
— Female, 33, New York, Management Consultant
"I am breaking generational patterns"
As a new parent, I wanted to be a calmer role model for my son. Now I can feel that shift. I'm breaking free from old patterns that trapped me professionally and personally. My loved ones notice I'm happier and more relaxed.
— Male, 38, France, Growth Consultant
"Best thing that has happened to me"
I am so so so glad I ended up choosing to do these sessions. Bhumi from Mindbun is the best thing that's happened to me in a long time. Thank you for this. So much.
— Female, 27, Ahmedabad, Homemaker
"I feel so much more confident"
I began therapy feeling deeply stuck, caught in recurring patterns. I felt truly heard and no longer invalidated or too much. Therapy has helped me rebuild confidence, break emotional loops, and handle situations with greater self-awareness.
— Female, 41, Delhi, Lawyer
Frequently asked questions
Who is Mindbun for?
Indians, wherever they live in the world. From Bengaluru to Berlin.
Most of our clients are working professionals (founders, managers, senior leaders) between 28 and 40. Some are in India. Many are abroad. But they share the same cultural wiring: family expectations, pressure to perform, complicated relationships with success and self-worth.
Some come because they're struggling. Anxiety, relationship conflict, burnout, grief, a career crossroads. Others come because they're doing fine on paper but something feels off and they can't name it.
And some aren't struggling at all. They want to understand their patterns. Why they react the way they do, why certain relationships feel harder than others, why rest feels like a threat.
We don't treat therapy as something you need only when things fall apart. For many of our clients, therapy is how they become more intentional about the kind of life they want to build.
Who is Mindbun not for?
We work with adults only. No one under 18.
We're also not equipped for severe psychiatric conditions that need medical supervision, medication management, or inpatient care. This includes active psychosis, severe substance dependence requiring detox, and eating disorders that need medical monitoring.
Mindbun is not a crisis helpline. If you or someone you know is in immediate distress, please reach out to local emergency services or a crisis support organisation.
When someone contacts us with concerns outside our scope, we do our best to point them toward the right resources.
Are therapists at Mindbun qualified and licensed?
Yes. Our team includes RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologists, internationally accredited Certified Transactional Analysts, and psychotherapists with extensive postgraduate training.
But we don't stop at qualifications. Every therapist on Mindbun has a minimum of 200+ hours of practical, case-based training in a specific modality. Every therapist is in personal therapy themselves. And every therapist remains in active supervision.
We verify all credentials through reference checks with trainers and supervisors.
How is Mindbun different from other therapy platforms?
In India, a Master's degree is enough to start practicing therapy. The problem is, most programs are heavily theoretical. The real skills develop later, through practical training and years of working with actual clients.
Most platforms don't look beyond the degree. We do.
Every therapist here has 200+ hours of practical training in a specific modality. All our therapists are in ongoing supervision and personal therapy. And instead of years of experience, we show actual client hours on every profile.
Our therapist network is built entirely through referrals. Therapists already on the platform refer colleagues they trust. Before onboarding anyone, we conduct reference checks with their supervisors and trainers.
The goal: therapists held to global standards, who deeply understand the cultural context of Indians wherever they live.
Do you provide culturally sensitive therapy for NRIs?
Yes. Many of our therapists regularly work with Indians living abroad and understand the challenges of navigating life across cultures.
Some of our therapists are based internationally, including in the UK, Germany, Singapore, and Qatar. Others have studied or worked abroad, or have spent years working with NRI clients as a significant part of their practice. For many therapists on Mindbun, a large portion of their caseload consists of NRI clients, giving them deep exposure to the realities of life overseas.
Effective therapy for NRIs requires understanding both the Indian cultural context and the environments clients now live in, and our therapists are well equipped to work across these worlds.
We also show how many countries a therapist's clients come from on their profile, offering transparency into the global nature of their practice.
Today, Mindbun works with clients across 27 countries and multiple time zones.
Is therapy confidential and private?
Yes. Therapy at Mindbun is completely confidential and private.
Your sessions happen directly between you and your therapist, and Mindbun does not have access to what is discussed. Sessions are not recorded by the platform.
When you begin therapy, you sign a confidentiality agreement that explains how your information is protected.
Like all therapy practices, confidentiality has very limited exceptions. If a therapist believes there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, they may need to alert the emergency contact you have provided.
These standards follow the ethical guidelines for mental health professionals in India, including privacy principles under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017.
What services does Mindbun offer?
We offer therapy and clinical assessments for adults (18+).
Therapy includes individual therapy, couples therapy, and family therapy. All sessions are online, via video.
We also offer clinical assessments and diagnosis conducted by RCI-licensed clinical psychologists. These cover conditions like ADHD, OCD, autism, CPTSD, depression, anxiety, dissociation etc.
After the assessment, you will receive a written report summarising the results and diagnosis. All assessments are conducted by RCI-licensed clinical psychologists using standardised tools, making the diagnosis clinically valid in India.
What languages does Mindbun support?
Our therapists offer sessions in 15 languages: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Sindhi, Punjabi, Marathi, Assamese, Nepali, Tulu, and Urdu.
Language availability varies by therapist. Your matching psychologist will factor in your language preference when recommending a therapist.
What concerns do you work with?
A wide range. Here are some of the most common:
Emotional and mental health: Anxiety, depression, panic attacks, burnout, emotional overwhelm, OCD, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, eating disorders, and somatic symptoms like chronic pain.
Trauma: PTSD, complex trauma (CPTSD), sexual abuse, domestic abuse, and intergenerational trauma.
Relationships: Conflict, communication challenges, couples therapy, infidelity, intimacy, sexuality, and kink-aware therapy.
Identity: LGBTQIA+ experiences, racism, caste-based discrimination, neurodivergence (ADHD, autism), and identity exploration.
Habits: Alcohol and substance use, behavioural addictions, and compulsive patterns.
Life transitions: Grief, bereavement, divorce, relocation, becoming a parent, career changes, NRI and cross-cultural experiences, self-esteem, and existential questions about meaning and purpose.
If you're unsure whether we can help with your specific concern, your matching call with a psychologist is the best place to find out.
What approaches do your therapists use?
Our therapists practice 39 different evidence-based and specialised therapeutic approaches. Some of the most common include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Humanistic therapy, Transactional Analysis, Schema Therapy, EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Somatic Experiencing, Gestalt Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Approaches, Family Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Hypnotherapy, and others.
This range allows us to support a wide variety of concerns. We offer evidence-based approaches, specialised trauma-focused therapies, as well as body-based and somatic approaches for people who prefer working with both mind and body.
Our network also includes long-standing therapeutic traditions like psychodynamic therapy, as well as newer approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Because therapy approaches can be confusing to navigate, you don't need to choose one yourself. During your matching call, our psychologist understands your concerns and helps connect you with a therapist whose approach is likely to be the best fit.
Do I get a trial session?
Yes. Before starting therapy, you’ll have two short conversations designed to help you find the right therapist.
First, you’ll have a free matching call with a counselling psychologist from our team. They hold a bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology and will understand your concerns, preferences, and goals before recommending a therapist who is likely to be a strong fit.
Once a therapist is recommended, you can have a free 30-minute discovery call with that therapist. This is an opportunity to ask questions about their training, approach, and how they typically work with clients.
If it doesn’t feel like the right fit, we’re happy to recommend another therapist and arrange another discovery call. The goal is to help you find someone you feel comfortable working with before beginning therapy.
